Yahoo! Games to Close Down on 2016 May 13th

Yahoo! has announced recently the near-closure of its sub-label, the Yahoo! Games. It was scheduled to the 13th day of May, at the year 2016.



According to the end-of-life (EOL) FAQ of this sub-label, in-game purchases will become unavailable as of March 14, 2016. So that means, any purchases made in the games will no longer be accepted after the said date. Yahoo! have been contacting several game developers and publishers to make compensation, such as of migrating their game accounts to the new servers.

Author's Opinion: Not only this sub-label has suffered due to sales decline, but other gaming companies has closed down after many years due to their declining sales or marketing. It is the fact that many more and better games are popping out on every corner, and people are searching them according to their taste of their liking.

After the scheduled shutdown on the said date, Yahoo! Games services will be permanently removed from any existing Yahoo! accounts.
